Hello you

Hello you
Soft  sweet and gentle  you
the you I once new
I remember your timid, innocent kind ways as if it was yesterday. So naive to the world that surrounded you.
You never saw the ugly within hearts that seemed so attractive
So shy and reserved
You were beautiful and you didn't even know it
You were a small flower that stood alone and pristine unpicked by the onlookers. Your tiny petals strived and craved greatness like the others. Your roots desired to be strong and deep.  But sometime along the way the sun stopped visiting you and the water dried up.
And you no longer grew
You were stunted and fell short of your required height.

Hello you
Broken stressed darkened you
The new you
The you I now have to get used to. You are still beautiful and pristine. But it is a different you. With a new outlook on life. You are outspoken yet timid. You are quick and witty when the moment presents itself but you still let the smallest things send you into a spiral and panic attack. Your petals have wilted a bit at the ends and your roots don't hold as strong. You don't stand as tall
You haven't seen a sunny day in a while and it shows on you.
You lost sight of what you really wanted in life. You go with the flow and let the wind blow you in either or direction.
Your lost in the thunderstorm
So I just ask
Please new you
meet old you
Remember the you that we once knew
And never forget you
and together create a better you
because you lost you
And we still need you
