Life of One

In retrospect
It was no coincidence
That so many connected entities
Came back into my life
To question me
Without much subtlety
While consuming dinners
Prepared by my wife
Who had no clue
As to who they were
After they showed up
Thousands of miles and many years
From our initial contact
I was and am the proverbial outsider
With nothing to hide and no fear either
After doing so much damage
In my quest for freedom
I had succeeded the system
Breaking banks and legs
In the process
Without caring less
It's true
But I did it without much concern
For who knew
Disappearing into my own existence
To God I prayed
To save me from any government raid
That would drive me insane
So I had to keep moving
With hood up and batteries charged
Not as a criminal
But at large
I flew in their face
While always leaving a trace
Which is how they found me
Yet, nothing was proved
As I stole from thieves
With God's approval
Something they couldn't stand
Even as they moved against me
They showed their hand
As enemies do
Especially in foreign lands
I had to always take a stand
To get away with it
By teaching the lesson
That life is grand
