Nocturnal strangers

Tar bubbling lungs
Hit the pipe with his back turned
One crackles, spatters, unleashed
I can see myself standing in front of me

Smoke crawling up the walls,
The distant smell of anguish and petrol
Shall I ever be forgiven?
Think it’s time for another admission

On the top floor of apartment blocks
Smoked that crack till time stopped
For a moment, in silent breathes
Hit the euphoria cloud; my refusal to come back down

We gasp and settle like winter morning dew
Hang like crystal spider webs with the silvery hue
Frozen beneath our heavy souls
Taught by the devil to make vapours roll

Walking across the frozen lake of addiction
The cracks beneath my feet guide me in my self-destructive mission
The time will come when I’ll break like ice
Fall down before one last look in my eye

There are no words spoken in the sweet surrender
A Fake, a phoney, a cold hearted pretender
Who will do anything for one more fix
Sleep in a garage, under the stars, under the fallen bridge
