The Graveyard
I had a dream
We were in the graveyard
In the spring
With sparklers and
Cricket sounds before dusk
The bats were flying and we
Played You’re the Top by cole porter on my record player
I could feel the breeze and the heat
And your laughter
They were there too
On the blanket
I stood
Picking cactus pricks out of my arms
She eats a cream sickle
I can tell you have too
When you kiss me
I remember hoping to jump in the river
And lemonade
And I wonder if we can ever be like this;
Darling
Would you dance with me sometime?
We were in the graveyard
In the spring
With sparklers and
Cricket sounds before dusk
The bats were flying and we
Played You’re the Top by cole porter on my record player
I could feel the breeze and the heat
And your laughter
They were there too
On the blanket
I stood
Picking cactus pricks out of my arms
She eats a cream sickle
I can tell you have too
When you kiss me
I remember hoping to jump in the river
And lemonade
And I wonder if we can ever be like this;
Darling
Would you dance with me sometime?
