Pinkening The Grapefruit
This chicken owl
stays awake
stays alive inside
at all times
at all hourly
oils of the night
Hooting through
hoochie
feathery fancies
passion fruit cahoots
uprooting
pink punk bitter root
taffeta ivy
in a line
Ballin' with
his cutlass talons
outlaw slingin'
alightin' in his choosin'
abruptly - eruptin'
flayin' my arms
skinsores interrupted
All twilight in hindsight
Black bettings
inner settings
of white knight
watchmen
of the silversnow
with pickup lines;
prickly pine
honey apple horseplay
sauced slurs stirred (not shaken)
from a sidecar
Peanut gallery jeers
leave your lips
full of chapped cavernous
ravines
Lickety splits
this squirming scalp
a kleptomania
of megalomaniac kelp
coifing the tradeoff;
A cape to capstone
my manmade
melees
***
It should be noted, this is purposefully vague, and was an exercise in enjoyment.

Well AB, "m glad you explained that it was "purposefully vague" because I have no idea what it's about, but I did enjoy the read. Great imagery! Reminded me of something John Lennon wrote in 1967 while his mind was, shall we say, "altered?

Thank you! :) I don't write many lyrics, so I thought it might be time for one. Plus, my stuff has been pretty grim lately, it seemed time for nonsense.
I always thought it was "koo koo kachu!" So funny how we hear that differently, as if it's of any consequence at all anyway haha!

Another funny thing about those lyrics by Lennon, during the ending, John claimed the chorus is "Everybody's Got One", but I have listened to it a thousand times and I hear "Everybody Loves Pot". I still think I'm right about that one.

Intenti9belly vague poetry typically leaves me wanting more. More details, more story. Etc.
However, this one made me grin. . .slyly.

I can't really describe it, I have a loose melody/cadence in mind, but nothing overly specific. I have been listening a lot to Glass Animals, I suppose it's loosely inspired by their style :)
