Hello darkness

life is a wheel
turning round and round
I was down and up again
saying yes was an up

He was tall, big, robust and red
everything my dad was not
he was like a tree, a shade
Dad just looked like a tired snot

protected me from all evils
while daddy dearest let it flow
he stood me up on a pedestal
pater thought I was a cushion

He was a lover
he was well endowed
he made my ecstasy
reverberate

it was phenomenal
his love for me legendary
he stood proud
in all he did

One day he left me forever
weary, driving home from work
He flew and fell over
Into the ravine, deep and dark

Screams, shrieks, howls in my mind
echoed and re-echoed, rebounded
within the walls of my head
silence was a guest at the funeral

Darkness after the eleventh month,
saying together forever
darkness my old friend
How long will you tarry

darkness clasped me
on his chest, whispered
be with me, stay a while
I will deal with you gently

Sitting on my bed,
looking out the window
holding an open blade
with deep caressing sorrow

Darkness loved me hard that night
coloured me in magenta, so red
ambulance twirling lights
woke me up in a pool of blood

Hello says darkness in my head
I will stay here a while
stay asleep, stay in bed
