sorry

while
working in the spares department
of a garage
at the top of silent hill
south of your place
north of mine,

a
young woman twisted her neck round
as she asked me the time
for collection
once the spare part was fitted
replacing the old damaged one,

looking
over
beyond the bonnet of the damaged car
like a broken toy
we watched a rook fly free
from her lovers hands,

closing my eyes
I said three o'clock on the 2nd of the month
turning with sorrow
stabbing through my innocent heart
to knock on yours,

I am so sorry
