Baggage
Red lines on a calender / /
each slash a day;
each day a week
marking months toward
years of togetherness
Not from first experiences;
those heavy baggages of growth:
crush / kiss / prom /
love / marriage /
home / kids /
mistake /
regret /
guilt/
divorce /
But, a culmination of knowledge
an inner maturity forming Us:
stirring, waking, seeing
total acceptance
forgiveness
release
peace
Happiness
healing scars
of expectation
Balance
Not sunrises but sets;
our Lives magenta moments
breathtakingly passionate
where living isn't in the heat
of afternoon, but each dawn
gracing aged appreciation
for the art of Love
Our unpacked baggage
decaying in the attic;
our pasts eternal
in tombs of dust
May they both
rest in peace
~
For J, who didn't carry my
baggage, but helped me
unpack it instead 💜💑

Such a beautifully hope filled poem. May the baggage sit covered in dust in the attic for years to come

Amen to that.
Note the slashing angle of stanzas enhancing the reading.
"our Lives magenta moments"
Even a color blind 'maroon' ( as Bugs Bunny would say ) such as myself can appreciate this beautiful description.
Can you believe it's been almost a year since we first met?!?!?
I Love You. 💜

I love the stacking and visual lines of the top stanzas, well done!
Beautiful expressions of support and timeless devotions. Only a year!? Seriously!? You guys seem to have known each other much longer than that (in a lovely way, not an old crabby person way) <3

"Our unpacked baggage
decaying in the attic;
our pasts eternal
in tombs of dust " -holy sh*t this is the line of the day .i often feel like my possessions own me and have the need to donate large amounts of my things to the goodwill until it's just me alone in an apartment lol.
nice visually appealing structure
"Lives magenta moments"-basking in purple lights of life

powerful lines you're dropping Ahavati

I like how you articulate growth and change. Not allowing our past to run our future but growing from it.
My favorite lines:
Our unpacked baggage
decaying in the attic;
our pasts eternal
in tombs of dust
May they both
rest in peace
Excellent scribe. Thank you.

Thank you, Lyrical. Contrast is essential to differentiate between what one doesn't want and what one wants. The most difficult circumstances ( and people ) are also our greatest teachers, showing us what needs loved and thusly healed.
I appreciate the attention you've given to my work.

Thank you, Marielle. The beauty of age is that it has taught you contrast. But, more importantly, you have learned.

You're not gone yet, Danny! Stop claiming loneliness ( which is attracting the same vibration ) and claim Love. Be as you have it and you will. 💕
Re. Baggage
can't bear it
too much baggage
you'll bring the ceiling down ..
just an old adage
from an attic (ted ) clown .. :)
