the dance of an old man
he sat
motionless
under
the old oak
frail body
wrinkled skin
saggy, tired eyes
till he heard
the music
and
began
to sway
in joy
in company
of spirits
immersed
in music
of the soul
for the soul
and he moved
swimming through the air
a million moments
'tween the steps
leaving earth
and landing back
head
swinging
in unison
with the boughs
eyes
closed
in trance
skinny limbs
care not
the strain
for the frail body
is now a bird
he is
in his element
home
calling
an old man dancing?
no
a child
coming home

Re. the dance of an old man
Much depth. As though seen through the eyes of the subject by the writer. No glasses needed by this writer to find feeling, have vision. Or trouble staying in step with the old mans dance.
Well accomplished cold!

The poets observation and ability to grasp understanding
shines bright in this write, as usual.
Well thought and penned. An enjoyed experience.

That 'dance' looked like Astaire, without his maiden, yet reflectin' back on a time when each would unify the beat of their hearts...waltzing like children riding a rainbow... :)
