In Me, With Me, Not Me

Rest assured, I've never felt more safe.
In a room full of mirrors, an unspeakable place.
Looking beyond the neck, hands, and face, I see something more material;
perhaps an unshakable space.
A space so vast and so beautiful, it can't be me.
I'm only 5 feet tall and 6 inches deep.

It moves so quick, yet is sturdy in its ways; so holy yet so inviting are its shining rays.
Here I am, watching and learning.
Watch.
Learn.
Tremble.
I tremble under this surge of electricity running through my veins.
Am I really touching God or has He cast me away?

No, I draw near to Him; I mean, He's already here.
I'm just making sure that all of this is clear:
I was far away from Him, separated, umbilical cord cut, severed, and torn.
But what Love has made a way!!
The God of my neck, hands, and face has paved a way.
I fall under His glory, submerged by His grace.
How could I ever resist such a perfect embrace?

His love has made me whole,
His blood has washed me clean.
No longer under the power of the enemy,
His fiery eyes I do see.
They burn through my trauma-induced wounds,
cauterizing every inch of territory that has been infiltrated with fear.
I'm no longer a slave, so I scream, my God MY GOD is here!!

What know you of the God man Jesus?
What know you of His power and His source?
His source I can call my Papa and His source that I can call my hope.

What do I see when I stare at the mirror?
I see flesh, I see corruptible matter.
I look a little closer,
Closer.
Look at what's really there:
the Spirit of Life, the Author of life, and Life Himself.

Let me not forget His benefits.
Praise to the One who has given me breath!
