Euphoria

Mutual entanglement;
Breathy heaves amidst perspiring flesh.
Ears drowning in whimpers,
Mind fogged and eyes glazed in euphoria.
The promise of a kiss here,
Lost elsewhere to aimless lips.
The tender ravaging of two souls,
Drowned temporarily in one another.
Chaotically rhythmic palpitations
Rise to a gradual climax;
Time frozen as desperately clinging bodies
Finally find release.
Exhaling the last bit of energy,
They float the veil of dreamscape and reality
In limply tangled limbs and disheveled hair.
