Imaginary Friend

You were real, I talked to you and played childish games with you. I told you secrets only my best friend would know, you made me laugh and told me stories. You comfronted my tears and made me laugh. You were my friend, you had a name the same name as someone else I knew. You were funny and witty but you gave up too soon, you said you wouldn't leave. You would always be there, you said I would always have you, you said you cared. But then I got a call and you were gone, why was it so easy. When I was sad I needed you to leave and so I was alone.

I told my friend with your name stories about you that were so real. I gave you a face, a name, a family, and a life. But you were never there, you were not real. I got choked up when I thought of you not being here but it wasn't you... It was my friend that had your name, if she had died I would have been alone. I needed to be sad and you were created from a memory of the past. Maybe I am insane? Maybe I have lost my mind? But the truth is you were never real and that you were only in my mind.
