If I had a self,
I would have an excuse;
if I had many selves,
I would have many excuses;
if I had no self,
I would have no excuses;
and,
if all the above are true,
I need no excuse at all...

Just a play on the notions of one self, many selves, 'real', or 'true' self, authentic self, no self at all, and, of course, on the many "ifs" that anguish our days... Thank you for reading and commenting!
