Where's The Love

A four letter word frequently heard but less observed
Normally it's provided from parents to children at birth
There's an extremely thin line between it and bitter hate
It's proclaimed to be given and received to & from a mate
More of it is desperately needed in this destructive world
The burden of its absence is too heavy for Hercules to curl
It's often missing in action as we're consumed with the distractions
And being easily divided as strategically as mathematical fractions
When withheld it can turn good men into killers and thugs
Or it can lead them down a reckless path of abusing drugs
It's often misused when someone is trying to deceive you
Into capitulating to their selfish desires to make you a fool
Many claim that they give of it unconditionally
Reality is that that type of it is rarely ever seen
A lot of folks search for it by looking up to the sky above
The million dollar question though is, where is all the love
