Someone to kiss
I lay in bed
Wondering what I've missed
Why I'm so lonely...
How long since I've been kissed.
Or even touched
In a manner more polite
Than lust and desire
Tears in the silence of the night
I'm not just an object
I'm a human being too
I love and live and bleed
Just like you
Don't lay your greedy
Dirty fingers on me
I deserve better
How can't you see?
I am not yours
I am not theirs
I am a daughter... a sister...
Somebody cares.
I'm not your toy
Not today
I'm not your pet
No matter what you say.
So I'll get out of bed
And stop wondering what I've missed.
I'll stop being lonely.
I'll find someone to kiss

Lips can be so deceiving, masked in shades of gray and red.
And they can whisper sweet nothings that mean nothing when in bed.
It's so hard to know when what they say is bleeding with the truth
Sometimes it makes you want to smash every lying tooth
Hiding behind lips parsed by deceptive scoundrels who cheat
But every now and then the right pair stop by to passionately meet...

Very heartfelt, relevant, and inspirational!
I just happened to stumble upon this Poem after being off the site for quite a while - and so happy that I did. I plan on sharing this with at least a couple of people I know.
A sobering message to a society that seems to increasingly view and treat women as sex-objects and play-things, devoid of feelings or emotions.

You have plenty of time to find the kiss you so desire. It is out there, I imagine many other kisses will come in between, don't give up on kisses, keep searching!!

Thank you for the comment! I appreciate the sudden interest in my poetry! Its lifts my spirits to know you've enjoyed them! I've been writing since I was 12 I think. Which believe me, wasn't that long ago... (lol) I hope I do find that kiss. Fairytales don't always come true though! I better start kissing some frogs! Glad you enjoyed it!
