The Pain Within
Just one of those moments
When all I want to do is cry
Not because of physical pain
But because of the pain within my heart.
Don't ask me why I feel this way
It's just something I feel
From time to time
Out of the blue.
I am having one of those moments
But am fighting back the tears
I try hard to fight
The pain I feel within.
Sadly I can't win this fight
And the tears run down my face
I hate when people see me cry
So I try to cry when alone or at night.
The pain I feel is strong and real
I wish it would go away
Even when I am happy
The pain is still deep within.
There's no way to shake it
Believe me I've tried
It always comes to surface
There's no way to mask my pain.
No one understands how I feel
No one has lived my pain
I sit here and cry my eyes out
Because of the pain I feel with.

Nobody knows another's pain - I totally agree with you, but empathy is possible for those who suffer similar - This poem really spoke to me and I do so connect with it and crying because of pain is, for me a regular event. So I can certainly empathise with you even if our sources of pain differ :-)

Hugs. Thank you for your kind words. I too suffer though pain everyday. Some of the things I have lived through I don't wish on my worst enemy. Not only have I suffered through the pain of the event as they happened but also through the nightmares & pain they have caused.
