This Shadowy Glade
Drifty poems of personal bliss and woes
Of lost love, loneliness, highs and lows
Of chasing dreams into warm sunny lands
Of long moonlight walks and holding hands
Then there are poems penned in chilled blood
By somber clad poets, boots caked with mud
They ever travel upon lonely dark damp trails
Cold spoken rhyme and strange campfire tales
No fanciful words of colorful garden flowers
Our poems are recited in the darkest hours
No nectar sweet words calling long lost love
Our words drop and slither from dark boughs above
Poems penned on a cold dark moonless night
Poems of strange travels and terrible fright
Wandering in dark forest, words of remiss
Upon the steep jagged ledge of insanity's abyss
You've chosen to enter this shadowy glade
So live you now and endure decisions made
Seek not to shape these cold grey stones
Rock hard enough to break your bones
Of lost love, loneliness, highs and lows
Of chasing dreams into warm sunny lands
Of long moonlight walks and holding hands
Then there are poems penned in chilled blood
By somber clad poets, boots caked with mud
They ever travel upon lonely dark damp trails
Cold spoken rhyme and strange campfire tales
No fanciful words of colorful garden flowers
Our poems are recited in the darkest hours
No nectar sweet words calling long lost love
Our words drop and slither from dark boughs above
Poems penned on a cold dark moonless night
Poems of strange travels and terrible fright
Wandering in dark forest, words of remiss
Upon the steep jagged ledge of insanity's abyss
You've chosen to enter this shadowy glade
So live you now and endure decisions made
Seek not to shape these cold grey stones
Rock hard enough to break your bones
