Numbers

He came,
Finding solace in mathematical equations
That he shared with her to solve
His inner longings
Something felt
In the depths of eternity
Energy born
Sharing minutes, hours
Calculated dreams

Were they not a sum of parts?
Twisted together in time?
His blue eyes gazing at her
Became a kaleidoscope of prisms
Broken down in mathematical genius
That penetrated her heart
At first glance,

Damn him,
For closing them so quickly
Not giving her time to
Finish the equation
Leaving her breathless
With a multitude of problems
Unanswered

She was told there would be no math.
