Fly Back to Me
Being left behind
Is something I have gotten used to
Never had you been so kind,
As to catch me while I flew.
So carefully did you fold my wings
And cater to my needs.
I knew then this wasn't a fling,
Rather a romance full of gallant deeds.
It's flown by so fast
Yet it was bound to end
I thought I had found you at long last
Then the air flattened, and I am on my own to fend.
Alone and lost, do I now fly
Once a songbird, I cry into the night
To you a long, bitter goodbye
Fly back to me so we can soon reunite.
Is something I have gotten used to
Never had you been so kind,
As to catch me while I flew.
So carefully did you fold my wings
And cater to my needs.
I knew then this wasn't a fling,
Rather a romance full of gallant deeds.
It's flown by so fast
Yet it was bound to end
I thought I had found you at long last
Then the air flattened, and I am on my own to fend.
Alone and lost, do I now fly
Once a songbird, I cry into the night
To you a long, bitter goodbye
Fly back to me so we can soon reunite.
