Rain's Reign (a bday wish)

I use the term "girl" not to demean or insult
rather to convey a vibrancy ever young
for you posses qualities I can never fully encapsule
in my pen

One of a kind in every sense
be it physical, mental, emotional
the wisdom of a grown female
eptiome of the word "lady"
not caught up in drama and games

But not so high brow and buttoned up
that a sanctimonious fervor
precludes enjoying the mosaic of
diversity and openness

Oh so sexy and sultry
but with classiness and humility
and a sense of humor
a gentle and classy demeanor
and a compass that might be presented
with a cloud here or there
but is never completely adrift

I appreciate the inspiration and dialogue
for putting up with the ardor unchained
no matter where it's source
and for being able to distinguish between
friendly harmless flirtations
and trifling ego trips swirling around

I am honored to be in your company
even though I barely fit that community of writers
and appreciate the gloves used
in dealing with me

We all love having you grace us with your thoughts
as you add another year to existence
may you grow always in being a better you
and never lose those qualities worth more then gold
