Sad, Old Dog

Sad, old dog scratching at the door.
What would you like to go in for?
Are you curious who's on the other side?
Is it a person in there who's making you whine and cry?
Your paws are shaking, and your nose is at the bottom of the door.
Your body is wounded, your heart is sore.
Sad, old dog, come with me.
I'll finally let you be at peace.
Rest your weak neck and your tired head on the ground.
Not one more sound, just try to keep your head in the clouds.

Sad, old dog scratching at that door, can't you see?
You are almost just like me.
A wounded soul begging to be seen.
May we one day find real happiness, not just in dreams.
Our worries will be carried away by tides of serenity.
Sad, old dog I'd open that door for you if I had the key.
