Under the Tree
Spring came and went
We met under the tree
Hearts beating fast
Faces blushing
It was early summer
When we started to hold hands
Watching clouds embarking on their endless journey
As the summer breeze carried my soul away to you
Perhaps it was the cold raindrops which punctured our seemingly undying love
When we were arguing under the same tree
Confusions and blames. Promises never made
Your stare was laser
Shattering me to a million pieces
The autumn leaves weeping
And silence came
Winter froze everything
Including my heart and yours
Your head turned away in defiance
And you never came back
Northern lights lighted up the ghastly sky
Vivid tapestries flashed back to those summer days
But there was no audience left
It was snowing when the crematorium took
your already cold and limp body away
Umbrellas in the air
As your turned into a wisp of smoke
Faded into nothingness
The ground thawed and I am still waiting
For a familiar figure to come back to the tree
Close my eyes.
And perhaps I will meet you again in the skies
We never changed, did we?
We met under the tree
Hearts beating fast
Faces blushing
It was early summer
When we started to hold hands
Watching clouds embarking on their endless journey
As the summer breeze carried my soul away to you
Perhaps it was the cold raindrops which punctured our seemingly undying love
When we were arguing under the same tree
Confusions and blames. Promises never made
Your stare was laser
Shattering me to a million pieces
The autumn leaves weeping
And silence came
Winter froze everything
Including my heart and yours
Your head turned away in defiance
And you never came back
Northern lights lighted up the ghastly sky
Vivid tapestries flashed back to those summer days
But there was no audience left
It was snowing when the crematorium took
your already cold and limp body away
Umbrellas in the air
As your turned into a wisp of smoke
Faded into nothingness
The ground thawed and I am still waiting
For a familiar figure to come back to the tree
Close my eyes.
And perhaps I will meet you again in the skies
We never changed, did we?
