Your Imprint
I am not one to drink much but you make me want
To turn into an alcoholic and druggie. You flaunt
And dangle yourself right in front of me, knowing
That I cannot have you. Your intoxicatingly flowing
Energy leaves me in a daze. Call me hungover, but
I cannot forget the way your dark brown and chestnut
Eyes track me down. It is like you know my soul
Because it is like yours. You take me into the hole
With you where there will still be some sunlight.
You know that I will always defend and will fight
For you, but I cannot be the only one who is in this
Battle. I know that there will be things I will miss
About you like your smile and the way you pull me
In tighter. You leave your imprint on me so I see
Nobody else but you and your fingerprints which
Were never wiped completely clean. I am in that niche
And place, right with and next to you, even when
You are gone. You are writing your name in pen.
