Awaken

There's no color in the days
The rays of light returning
The darkness peeking through foggy skies
Are we stirring in the dark?
Are we ending the winter?
Come out of hibernation
Because we're sleeping our lives away

All the children calling
Every mother shaking our lifeless bodies
As if we've conformed to this age
As if we've accepted the fate
Praying for an awakening in our somber slumber

If not our mothers
If not the starving youth
If not our unborn offspring
Then who?
No dream could save us
Maybe silence is the thing to wake us
