Goodbye Hairtie

Hair tie around my wrist,
maybe something I no
Longer need. I missed
You even though
Something about you
Was breakable, weak
And always twisted into
Knots. You always speak
To me in my times of
Need and when my hair
Was a mess. Your love
And support was there
Even when I screamed
And threw you away
In disgust. I dreamed
Of a way for you to stay.
My hair tie, you are lost
With all of the other ones
Below my bed and tossed
Into the trash. Goodbye buns,
Ponytails, pigtails and other
Hairstyles when you are
Needed. You are my mother,
And friend, but you are far
Gone. You were my star.
