Too worldly of a man to fit in with the church folks
Not savage enough to engage with the cut throats
Guess I'm just a loner traveling down my own path
Making analytical calculations like geometric math
Stuck between contrasting worlds persistently looking for my place
Becoming a misanthrope because society is such a pitiful disgrace
They've got money for war but unconscionably can't feed the poor
Got me frequently feeling dumbfounded wondering what is all this for
I'm viewing the world with a more enlightened mind than in my past
Trying hard to avoid becoming a recluse or going stark raving mad
The more knowledge I gain about history makes things more of a mystery
Many things have evolved but haven't changed and it makes no sense to me
Racism, sexism, classism and so many disingenuous politicians
All appear to be on the rise and their disguises seem to be missing
It's like Trump has made it cool to act like ignorant bigoted fools
Imminent war on the horizon so it won't be long before the next bomb goes boom
