Before And After Leaving
Before.
Stating of Purpose.
"... Others walk the streets
with a baby in their arms,
a bag of groceries, a boyfriend
- once I saw one with a piece of stolen art...
... I have my arms free, always,
prepared to break a fall...", she said...
The Realization.
"... Enough is not enough;...", she said,
"enough is never enough;...
even when your belly explodes,
your teeth keep chewing... the fat... the lean...
the bone... the skin..."
And he knew she was leaving...
The Event.
"... All these 'sweet nothings' I whispered in your ear...
What a waste of time and energy...",
she said
and she, already, had moved to other ears...
After.
Self Realization.
She carries no lessons from the past,
she has no nostalgia in her gaze,
no vision whatsoever...
... She's neither fresh, nor wise...
... Wisdom belongs to the birds.
She only owns her choices...
