This poem is called Handing Out Heartbeats
echoes of tears
I heard her sighing in the wind
the air would carry the deceit in her soul
to any passing ear willing to listen
a somber lullaby
she slumber with wounds
=====
same Devil that danced beneath a pale moon
slithered along sheets many times after dusk
her womb flinches in agony
what agony
to know what God felt like
hence the past tense
cold sweats occur
heart beat increasing
as if its pumping for two
no matter how loud she sang
would he even care?
still she sang
"you took my heartbeat from me"
what a lie...
her fingers gripping twisted facial features
featuring saline solutions streaming like rivers
fragile like glass, they would hit the floor
shatter along the tiles
mixing with the dried blood
from 2 days ago
her DNA embedded
...
she harnessed enough strength to remain weak
whispering to herself in the dark
"you took my heartbeat from me"
what a lie!
.....she gave it away....
I heard her sighing in the wind
the air would carry the deceit in her soul
to any passing ear willing to listen
a somber lullaby
she slumber with wounds
