Sometimes Too
Sometimes
I just want to say
to the Universe
Go ahead; take it all
take back everything
tangible you gave me:
My home; my car
my dog too
Don't stop there
take back everything
( and One ) I love
Everything you gave
take it back
now
Throw me out
onto the street
where there's no fear
of being misunderstood
Let me live gratefully
for rotten fruit
or a handful of nuts
tossed my way
Let me live contented
for the ignorant
who cross the street
to avoid me
Let me leave this Life
alone, grateful
for having Lived
when you take
my last breath too
Go ahead;
take back
every tangible Dream
you granted
But don't you dare
leave that Spiritual one
without instructions
wreaking havoc
Now go ahead;
Take it back
But by God
take it ALL
I just want to say
to the Universe
Go ahead; take it all
take back everything
tangible you gave me:
My home; my car
my dog too
Don't stop there
take back everything
( and One ) I love
Everything you gave
take it back
now
Throw me out
onto the street
where there's no fear
of being misunderstood
Let me live gratefully
for rotten fruit
or a handful of nuts
tossed my way
Let me live contented
for the ignorant
who cross the street
to avoid me
Let me leave this Life
alone, grateful
for having Lived
when you take
my last breath too
Go ahead;
take back
every tangible Dream
you granted
But don't you dare
leave that Spiritual one
without instructions
wreaking havoc
Now go ahead;
Take it back
But by God
take it ALL
