Smile For Me
My heart beckons your name, screaming for love
Shouting into the heavens above
But a lesson must be learned, and her pain known
As I try to hold back my tears from being shown
Guilt pressing itself heavily upon my heart tool
Making me realize that I was such a fool
It pains me knowing of the guilt by mind
But she knows just how to cross the line
Enough to sting, maybe even bruise my heart
A lesson teaching me I should have stayed loyal from the start
A fools tale, one born of lust and desire
The love went as high as it could, until it couldn't get any higher
Her words escape her lips with such force and ease
Piercing my ears, and my heart with words that don't please
Letting her pain be known a little more with each moment
Trying to keep a smile, the hurt I try not to show it
No apology could show as much as my heart feels
I can only hope to tend to it and is slowly heals
Looking into her eyes at the right moment, all her pain can be seen
Pain caused by an idiot, who was so cruel and mean
She handed him her heart and dropped it he did
Now all the anger she has, off comes the lid
Slowly but surely making sure he feels small glimpses of her pain
He holds back his tears, putting the old him in high disdain
He knows the feeling of heart ache
Cursing himself for making another feel beart break
Oh how wishes he could turn back the clocks of time
And stop himself from ever crossing that line
She still holds his heart and could drop it if she so chose to
But a slow painful treament is what his heart should grow through
The least he deserves for the wrongs he has done
He'll withstand it, even though he knows it won't be fun
As long as in the end she doesn't hurt as so
Her happiness is all he wants to grow
For her smile to shine brighter the sun and stars
For her eyes to glow brighter then headlights on a car
He has accepted the fact that there is no going back
So this time, his love will not lack
He'll appreciate her beauty from a distance
And cherish every moment of their friendship
Together or not it is all he desires
Shouting into the heavens above
But a lesson must be learned, and her pain known
As I try to hold back my tears from being shown
Guilt pressing itself heavily upon my heart tool
Making me realize that I was such a fool
It pains me knowing of the guilt by mind
