"That" Girl
I tell them about your intriguing and mesmerizing green eyes
Every chance that I get
I tell them how those eyes are the only ones I'd like to see for the next 60 years of my life
Praying it won't ever slip their minds
I tell them that those girls will never be me
But what if that isn't entirely true?
I tell them I'll marry the sweetest and most handsome man
But what if I won't?
I tell them that I've never been happier
But what if I'm more lost than I've ever been?
I've told them adventureous stories since I was a child
More than I can count
About damsels saved by princes
About women who marry handsome men
About girls who love their lives
...but what if that isn't me?
Every chance that I get
I tell them how those eyes are the only ones I'd like to see for the next 60 years of my life
Praying it won't ever slip their minds
I tell them that those girls will never be me
But what if that isn't entirely true?
I tell them I'll marry the sweetest and most handsome man
But what if I won't?
I tell them that I've never been happier
But what if I'm more lost than I've ever been?
I've told them adventureous stories since I was a child
More than I can count
About damsels saved by princes
About women who marry handsome men
About girls who love their lives
...but what if that isn't me?
