Aimless Footfalls Wander
Clouds swirl about and
darkness descends
lying her head
amongst the lonely
Beats of the heart fade
and thoughts give way
to a pain stained night
Aimless footfalls wander
hollow halls and angry
floor boards squeak
in tongues of failures
never understood
Cold water splashes
ease the burden
temporarily but an
open window haunts

There is an overall melancholy to this piece. Steady and somewhat....calm. Even when the subject matter is a bit heavy.

This has a dreamlike quality. Like being caught in those few seconds where you are not sure if you are awake or still dreaming. I like it.
