The Green
The green that I see in front of me and at all sides,
Is a treasure that has been here before you and I
It is life that is free and vast
It is green that harks back to the planet's past
It is a reminder that even the seen can be unseen
This green has become invisible in favor of the other green
Greed is the enemy to the bounty in front of you and me
In man's journey of conquest, they forgot that you can't own what's already free
I look to the beauty of this green when I want to see the truth
Mother Nature's will and tenacity must be remembered by human beings that are resolute to create a world where humanity itself does not compute
She hides the truth of life in plain sight, only seen if you care to listen to her words through fertile soil, sea, and raindrops that glisten
Remember to tell this mother you love her by making her more green
and keeping her forests and seas clean, because it won't be too soon before long
That we'll be the ones packing when she's gone
Is a treasure that has been here before you and I
It is life that is free and vast
It is green that harks back to the planet's past
It is a reminder that even the seen can be unseen
This green has become invisible in favor of the other green
Greed is the enemy to the bounty in front of you and me
In man's journey of conquest, they forgot that you can't own what's already free
I look to the beauty of this green when I want to see the truth
