Father

Everything I do for you
nothing is ever enough

I'll always be a disappointment
in your eyes

my role-model
the perfect example
of what I should never be

I hate what I've become

we don't really look the same
I got my looks from my mother
but I have become just like you

a childhood that left me dead inside
has also left me prepared
to face this cold, violent world

I hate what I've become

taught me not to take any shit
and that black-and-white
is actually a big grey area

I hate what I've become

that same hatred runs through my veins
burning away the traces of humanity
until it's all that remains
