Saving Satan
You gave me life
you have the right
to take it too.
Remove my pain
and I shall pray
to stay subdued.
My lofty dreams
are smashed to bits,
your hammer crashed
inside my brain.
It's not my place
to stay your hand
or ever take
your name in vain.
~o~
Walk on water,
you promise heaven
keep halo hidden
from my eyes well.
Praise your name and
always fear your wrath,
just swear I'm spared
from flames of hell.
~o~
Take these two hands
to dig your graves,
they long to be
one with the dirt.
They say God helps
the man who saves
the Devil pain
of being hurt.
(this was inspired by Audioslave song: "Show me how to live"
Not written to the tune of that song, though)
