Never a Nice Word
Dreamer 'neath the oak
Quiet and still
Catcalling at onlookers
Amused by nubile sightseers
I wonder at length
What those dreams
Are made of
I tremble sometimes
Your face of cobblestone
Your tongue of glass
It mocks me
I cannot say
I do not deserve
I've scratched at trees
I've shrilled at birds
You are never amused
Yet you in your own way
Are always so immature.
