Father Time
Father Time, you hold me
In your clenched fist,
A little black dot...dot ---
How dare you
Shelter me like this,
Yet I won't sting you,
Cannot.
I slept in an egg all winter,
You see, dying to be free.
Curtain of darkness ---
Its all I see.
The nectar of your
Palm-Sweat has
Sustained me,
The time has
Defamed me.
I created you, yet
You are nothing,
Not a shell that
Tic... Tic... Tics away.
I can't go back in time
Buzzing like a fair dream
And I can't lift your
Comb of injustice with only
A bare scream.
You impregnate the
Queen of Mythology;
Grandiloquence.
And I release you ---
In a word,
You never held me.
In your clenched fist,
A little black dot...dot ---
How dare you
Shelter me like this,
Yet I won't sting you,
Cannot.
I slept in an egg all winter,
You see, dying to be free.
Curtain of darkness ---
Its all I see.
The nectar of your
Palm-Sweat has
Sustained me,
The time has
Defamed me.
I created you, yet
You are nothing,
Not a shell that
Tic... Tic... Tics away.
I can't go back in time
Buzzing like a fair dream
And I can't lift your
Comb of injustice with only
A bare scream.
You impregnate the
Queen of Mythology;
Grandiloquence.
And I release you ---
In a word,
You never held me.
