The Past, I often look back
My past was lit, so I beg your pardon if I have to dip
Back into the memories of catastrophes, loved them all fashionably
So when I sit back and recap and daydream of relapse
I go back for the best parts of the worst times,
Late nights surfing highways and byways just to lay by you sideways
We ended things abruptly cause I couldn’t have things my way
Made love to love songs and slow songs, we wrestled with no clothes on
Those moments we prolonged, now those days are long gone
My consciousness cloudy, but I see it all clearly; I see no wrong to long for you so dearly
Cause I fell for you deeply, was too late when I realized I treated us so cheaply
Made mistakes that I’d like to re-tape, but at least I can rewind the footage saved in my mind
Now at times I still try to reach you, and revive what went through
I try to refresh your mind of the dates and the times
Because every recollection is forever embedded in my mind’s calendar
And as good as it was I now see with a brand new curiosity
I look back at the then and it makes me want you now
Not knowing how, you’d see me now
So I binge watch the past, from my personal stash
Going forward on my track, but I often look back
Back into the memories of catastrophes, loved them all fashionably
So when I sit back and recap and daydream of relapse
I go back for the best parts of the worst times,
