Image for the poem BODIES EVERYWHERE

BODIES EVERYWHERE

I stand on the shore as the river flows by
Scarlet with hunks of meat and bits of bone
I wash last night’s festivities away
The last of you is swirling down the drain

The beast within me hungers for flesh
Welcome to the party

Entertaining thoughts of your demise
As your clawing at the wall and screaming in despair
Once oh so timid as a church mouse
Now you clawing at the wall with bodies everywhere

Red Riding Hood in skintight leather
With a basket full of party goodies
Vials of chloroform, pills of Rohypnol
Wake on camera and tease me with a “no”

Sit down at the banquet for the damned
The lights are up tonight

Entertaining thoughts of your demise
As your clawing at the wall and screaming in despair
Once oh so timid as a church mouse
Now you clawing at the wall with bodies everywhere

I still see your shattered face in my dreams
A sweet melody of piercing screams
Echo with eternal sorrow
Where you crawl the camera follows

Home is where the heart is
Love you tender in pieces
Embrace you forevermore
Jesus saves nevermore

Entertaining thoughts of your demise
As your clawing at the wall and screaming in despair
Once oh so timid as a church mouse
Now you clawing at the wall with bodies everywhere
