Angel in a Jar

My eyes spied an angel
chasing rainbows...
 
She didn't know
how I loved her
til the moment
of her capture
when I told her
how I'd keep her
safely stuffed inside a jar
with several breathing holes
I had carefully poked out
 
 
Working hard to earn my trust
she promised not to bite
so I placed her in a
cage way up high
to catch the sunlight
clipped her wings
and made her sing
now everything
is seeming right
 
One day I pray
she falls in love
with me so we
can drift to sleep
and fly away
inside a dream
for all eternity...
