Don't Say My Life Is Great
Don't say my life is great,
Don't act like you know,
Though I smile and laugh,
My heart is aching,
Would it take you aback,
to know that I'm breaking?
I'm so smart you say,
But I struggle to keep up with every school day,
I'm so pretty you say,
But I look in the mirror and I can't see myself that way,
“Teen angst” you said,
“Just moody” you comment,
How could all the signs go above your head?
Stupid? Oblivious? Or do you just not care?
I bet you would if I let it go,
But no,
I can't let you have that satisfaction,
Not yet,
Don't act like you know,
Though I smile and laugh,
My heart is aching,
Would it take you aback,
to know that I'm breaking?
I'm so smart you say,
But I struggle to keep up with every school day,
I'm so pretty you say,
But I look in the mirror and I can't see myself that way,
“Teen angst” you said,
“Just moody” you comment,
How could all the signs go above your head?
Stupid? Oblivious? Or do you just not care?
I bet you would if I let it go,
But no,
I can't let you have that satisfaction,
