The monster in us all
The mind of a murderer, rapist or child molester is a sick twisted one. The monster in the human nature that causes other wise normal
people to commit these despicable actions. Do we as human beings have any control over these impulses that cause us to commit these
crimes, or are we the product of a corrupt and twisted psyche? The monster is the unconscious mind. You could try to play the "Devil made me do it" card. But did the devil hold a gun to your head and force you to commit the crime? What causes the monster to consume us all? Is it the stress of always walking the straight line? The thrill of getting away with a crime? A twisted and corrupt psyche? The monster with in us all? Most of us control these impulses, while some of us fall victim to them. Michael Meyers from the movie Halloween and Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare On Elm Street come to mind as examples here. Were they born to be a murderer in the case of Michael Meyers or a child molester in the case of Freddy Krueger? Were they the products of a dysfunctional family or abused as children? Possibly in Freddy Krueger's case it was in part because he was the bastard child of 100 maniacs that played a roll in his genetic up bringing. What ever the case may be, they both fell victim to the monster. Either to the fault of their own psyche or predestined fates. Beware the monster within, for a just God will have final just Judgement over the living and the dead alike.
