Failed Victory
Sucking breath in shards and splinters
Crumpled on the floor of winter
Ink black sky covering my red blotchy face
Unsure if it's victory or failure I taste
Only my discordant breathing breaks silence
Where is my secret child of science?
They told me to leave creation alone
They warned me of the evil unknown
Fragmented laughter bubbles and hisses
A shuffling, lopsided walk in the distance
I steel myself for all his unnatural ardor
Gasps and groans, the effort of his labor
Icy air soothes my tattered skin
His claws are sharp, his teeth dig in
I croon out "I love you more than the rest"
As my unholy beast devours my flesh
Crumpled on the floor of winter
Ink black sky covering my red blotchy face
Unsure if it's victory or failure I taste
Only my discordant breathing breaks silence
Where is my secret child of science?
They told me to leave creation alone
They warned me of the evil unknown
Fragmented laughter bubbles and hisses
A shuffling, lopsided walk in the distance
I steel myself for all his unnatural ardor
Gasps and groans, the effort of his labor
Icy air soothes my tattered skin
His claws are sharp, his teeth dig in
I croon out "I love you more than the rest"
As my unholy beast devours my flesh
