Setting Sun
Sometimes life is really strange
The ones you think you know
Are the very ones that try to confuse
They want to stay, but go…
Once reality pierces the heart
The hole can never be repaired
It will never heal, it leaves a scar
A stark reminder – no one cared
I pull my feelings back inside
Out in the open they get burned
Saying one thing and doing another
I thought that lesson I had learned
I have run as far and as fast as I can
My running days are done
I’m tired of all this hurting
I surrender to the setting sun
The ones you think you know
Are the very ones that try to confuse
They want to stay, but go…
Once reality pierces the heart
The hole can never be repaired
It will never heal, it leaves a scar
A stark reminder – no one cared
I pull my feelings back inside
Out in the open they get burned
Saying one thing and doing another
I thought that lesson I had learned
I have run as far and as fast as I can
My running days are done
I’m tired of all this hurting
I surrender to the setting sun
