Got a D on my Report Card
Got all A's on my report card
Except for that one D,
When I got home and mom was shown
She asked how this could be.
I said she shouldn't tell my dad
Since she was mad enough,
I got a D cause math for me
Just never added up.
Long division, algorithms
Didn't make much sense,
I'd rather study chemistry
And mix ingredients.
When dad got home he wasn't pleased
As he reviewed my grades,
My D in math had sparked his wrath
he flew into a rage.
I then ran straight up to my room
But he was right behind me,
I quickly fled under the bed
But knew that he would find me.
As he began approaching me
My fear was growing greater,
He reached instead beneath my bed
And left a calculator.
I guess my parents aren't so bad
Sometimes I am a punk,
I'm not afraid to hide my grades
If I should ever flunk.
