Secretions
secrete
secrets
from the wise ones
secrets flow
in all secretions
drink from them
and you too might
get nourished from wisdom's cup
after partaking you might
take a journey with
the third eye
much like
temple priestesses
of old
who gave wisdom
strength and courage
through their act
emanating their
wisdom
speaking their coded
secret language through
secretions
secrets
being secreted
through their secretions
can't spill it to the many
for wisdom offered to those
who would never understand
feels like treason
to the source of the secret
wisdom

Thank you for commenting so thoughtfully. The verse you refer to is more from this one woman's point of view (the wise one). I don't think one can generalize regarding women (wise, ignorant or otherwise) and their secretions. Each woman must decide for herself who she deems worthy. Some prefer many, others are more selective. Both are o.k.
and there is nothing wrong with either choice. Although I think a certain amount of deliberateness or awareness would be necessary in either case especially if it comes to secreting secrets. :)

As someone who has sought faith in many religions through nearly my entire life, I find this an enlightening expression of wisdom. It's also a tongue twister and mind bender. I had to slow down reading it the first time through, it was like trying to say 'she sells seashells by the seashore" or "how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood". I think I have that down now. haha.
How true to say might in
"drink from them
and you too might
get nourished from wisdom's cup"
as not everyone imparted with wisdom has the understanding to use it. The ending is absolutely brilliant and brings it all together is a truly wise poem from a wise old soul.
I have spent much time in the search for faith with priests, ministers, rabbis, gurus, yogis deacons, shamans and many other spiritual guides
who have delivered many words of wisdom to me, but still I cannot grasp true faith even though I feel I completely understand it.
This poem is as true and wise as anything I have learned. Thank you!

thank you also for thinking that it is true and wise. I wasn't really sure how this poem would be perceived, and it was in no way meant as an indictment against women who "spill it to the many", rather it was meant to convey the feelings of this one particular "wise old soul."
