The Camel
They are most peculiar mammals,
Desert Ships are known as Camels.
They're lean and strong, almost sunproof,
It looks as though they walk on hoof.
But on their feet; two special toes,
To help trek sand dunes, I suppose.
With bony knees they walk with ease,
Through burning deserts with no breeze.
They survive this dry existence,
Since their humps provide subsistence.
Those humps have water they can sip,
While they go on their desert trip.
When riding camels hold on tight,
It hurts to fall from such a height.
And careful just how close you get,
A camel has been known to spit!
