Night Sky
I've soared through the night sky to cast a rainbow
The storm's off in the distance caught in the wind flow
No thunder can shake the love from my heart
No lightning can keep us apart
No wonder you have inspired my art

Thank you Scarlet! That particular stanza was initially the first verse, but after I finished writing the poem, I thought it made a better ending. That winds of being the case in many of my poems, as I think of a concept, it starts out with a purpose that often comes out as a conclusion, then I build around that. This helps me keep everything else I write in the poem heading to that end. I have ADD and get sidetracked easily, so if I don't have a destiny in mind for whatever I am writing, I can go on and on and on before I complete it. With poems, it doesn't take that long for me to write them, so I can stay focused on the topic at hand. I have bits and pieces of many poems I never completed because something interupted my train of thought and by the time I got back to it, the train had crashed and my muse bumped her head and forgot what I was trying to create. Have I mentioned that I am long winded and get sidetracked easily?
