she desperately tries to capture something,
to catch a moment that doesn't seem
blurred outside the lines of reason
the flight of a blue bird catches her eye,
flitting happily here and there, too fast for her lens
she captures the memory,
sometimes, that is all we are allowed
to catch a moment that doesn't seem
blurred outside the lines of reason
the flight of a blue bird catches her eye,
flitting happily here and there, too fast for her lens
she captures the memory,
sometimes, that is all we are allowed

Some moments are too precious for a camera. We can capture the image but the truth of the moment...that's untouchable. Very much enjoyed

Great write! I When I see people who take photos all the time, I often wonder if they actually enjoy what they see and cherish the moment... you captured that so very well!

Thank You so much Duende for the read and thoughtful comments .. there are times when the camera cannot capture the breathtaking beauty of things. At these times, I just put my camera down and take it in. .. ox

when you touch upon capture, reason, what is allowed ...those lines those frame, those tine, those containment ...seems trivial to the memory, the bluebird, the blurriness, infinite nature with within. beautiful work jemac xx

Best are those moments captured by the heart vs lens. Lovely testament to the present, Je.

it's the beauty of a fleeting moment,
something that doesn't belong in a cage -
such is your metaphor...

I always now find it ironic that people go to a rock concert and film it on their mobile phones - what ever happened to enjoying the moment and using your memory - just a wee thought :-)
great write :-)

Thank You for the read and thoughtful comments David ... I completely agree... we put too much focus on trying to capture everything ... (no pun intended)

Jemac, I truly enjoy the pondering that your poetry evokes. I am sad to have just now discovered your art via the poem of the month. This piece made me ponder the lack of constancy in life. You illustrate so well how a good memory is something concrete that promises to always lift our spirits. I also like that you choose "Love" as the category for a lot of your pieces even though they don't necessarily address topics of romance. To me that illustrates your love of life in general. Brava!

Thank you so much Gahddess for all your beautiful comments ... welcome ! ... it is a pleasure to be found ... A friend once told me, everything begins with love ... so I try to view life that way ... not always easy, but the best way to approach it ... ox
