REBIRTH

Lay Me down
In White sheets of linen
Body wrapped in white
My burial shroud
Let the earth taste of Me
Of what's left

Take Me to the darkness
To the bottomless pit
Where there's no pain and hurt
And My mistakes won't bite back
Nothing could be worse than
All I've ever known

In the deadened embrace of death
As darkness replaces light
And all that was once no more
Heart beats to the tune of cold
From Myself ; the torment
I depart forever
For what is dead may never die...

... but rises again harder and stronger
Like fire from ashes
rising unexpectedly
Like a tree from chopped woods
Growing unbelievably
Sprouting with eagerness
Maturing with time
This is My rebirth
